My guess is you have an active add blocker working... In Firefox There is an add on filterset adblock which downloads adblock for Firefox... I would go to Tools>Ad Ons and disable or uninstall it.
But this wouldn't account for IE not displaying... So I wonders if you have a firewall configuration issue that needs sorting..
