my website is http://ijfg.com

1. when I tried to install the mod, it has "managepermissions.php test failed", but I still went ahead and installed the package.
2. everything looks fine, but the admin can see the ads, guest can not see ads.
3. I am using the default themes

I tried to google, some posts says that
"the permission are in Admin -> Permission and for
every group do you want to see the ads you mu check
Enable Ads,"

well, I can not see the option of "Enable Ads". I assume that I should manually edit managepermissions.php? right?
However, I don't know much the install.xml, can you let me know on how to edit the  anagepermissions.php?
(I don't know much php nor xml)

Thank you very much.

I searched more, and have found an answer :

Install the mod. Then ftp into your accout to your Sources directory and download the ManagePermissions.php file. Once it is on your desktop open it in an editor, I use Php Designer. In that file find an answer from this board:

Code:

         'pm' => array(

And replace it with:

Code:

         'ad_manage' => array(
            'ad_manageperm' => false,
         ),
         'pm' => array(

now http://ijfg.com is showing ads

I was able to find this thread and hoped to solve the same problem on my forum. I can see the ads as Admin but guests and members do not.

Here is what my modified text in ManagePermissions.php looks like:

Are there errors there? Should I chmod the uploaded file again?

This modified text has NOT changed the problem and guests and members do not see ads.

Well, I answered my own problem! ::)

The code above is not the issue for most of us... the trick is simpler and requires a few changes to the permission settings in the Admin panel.

Go to Admin, Permissions (2nd down from top on left). You will get a list of your member groups. Click the blue Modify button for each group and check "Enable Ads", you will not need this for Administrators.

Now logout as Admin and come back as a guest.

It worked for me!
