Install problems

I tried posting this as a response to a previously resolved thread and received no responses I guess it was marked resolved. Hopefully someone can give me some insight as to why this is not working for me

I thought I followed the above instructions to the tee, but for some reason I do not see anything to do with ads in the admin section.
I am running 1.1.11 with the cristal theme
SMF is in the /innercircle directory so that is where I ran the install.php from. The screen went blank and then I copied the files as per the instructions above. Anything that was supposed to go into /default was put into /cristal Of course my theme section in SMF is also pointing to the same directory.
I'm stumped
