I have 1.1.11 Version.
I went to the mod web page and selected the 1.1.11 version and hit parse.
All the modifications needed showed.

I use a webhosting service, so I went to FTP Manager and went to all those files and made the changes and saved.

The steps I'm confused about are:

At the end of the text that comes up after I hit the parse button, after the modifications needed, there are 2 sections I don't understand:

" Code
install.php
This file should be able to execute standalone.
File Operations
Move the included file "Ads.php" to "./Sources".
Move the included file "LoadAds.php" to "./Sources".
Move the included file "Ads.template.php" to "./Themes/default".
Move the included file "Ads.english.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Move the included file "Ads.english-utf8.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
"

What Am I supposed to do with this ?

So far, the way it is...my forum is not working at all...
I can't even load the webpage.

Please let me know

Thank you.

Copy install.php from the ad mod to the root directory of your forum then run via the web browser example: http://www.yoursite.com/install.php

Copy the file "Ads.php" to "./Sources".
Copy the file  "LoadAds.php" to "./Sources".
Copy the file  "Ads.template.php" to "./Themes/default".
Copy the file  "Ads.english.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".
Copy the file  "Ads.english-utf8.php" to "./Themes/default/languages".

I just did the first step.  Uploaded install.php to my website directory...
Please note that my forum is under a directory  (www.mywebsite.com/smf)...is that where the file should go or does it have to go to www.mywebsite.com directory ?

I did the first (..../smf) and I got this message in error.

Template Parse Error!
It seems something has gone sour on the forum with the template system. This problem should only be temporary, so please come back later and try again. If you continue to see this message, please contact the administrator.

You can also try refreshing this page.

Should I try to run the install.php file before or after I copy the other files ?

Thank you much for your quick reply

Thank you for your help.
I went back and rechecked all the files...I had an error in one of the changes I made.  I fixed  it and ran the install.php file...uploaded the other files as you said...
Now my forum is working again and I can see the Ad management menu tab and the warning sign to remove the install.php file...which I did...

Thanks a lot...this is cool  :)
Can't wait to start using it.
Appreciated.

Hello,

I thought I followed the above instructions to the tee, but for some reason I do not see anything to do with ads in the admin section.
I am running 1.1.11 with the cristal theme
SMF is in the /innercircle directory so that is where I ran the install.php from. The screen went blank and then I copied the files as per the instructions above. Anything that was supposed to go into /default was put into /cristal Of course my theme section in SMF is also pointing to the same directory.
I'm stumped
