Change the banner in 1.1.7 Default style theme

I have a Green Style of the default theme and I would like to remove the text and the SMF theme logo on the top and place my own banner there. I know I could just replace the pic with my own and that would do it but I would like the banner to be centered. how would I do that? Thanks

           I think you couldn't remove the smf.
