In the content section I pasted the code from my ad and then selected the board in which it should show up but nothing shows up.

Is there a tutorial on how to use ad management???

Are you using the default theme or a custom theme.

Then you have to edit the theme manually as the package manager only edits the default theme. Head over the "Theme Support" and look for the stickie that corresponds with your version of the ad mod and do the edits manually.

I went to the link you provided and while editing the index.template.php the last edit the instructions say to do I can't because I do not have the text you say to find.

Then on the boardindex.template.php the same thing happens for the first edit, can't find the text you say to find....

So I stopped and will wait for some help.
