Ads on Most Recent Posts-page

Is it possible to add an option like "Display ads on the recent posts page", which displays ads only on the recent posts-page (index.php?action=recent), right under the menu bar?

This can be accomplished easily by pasting the ad-code into the Recent.template.php file.

I know, but I think it will make more sense to be able to dis- and enable ads from 1 central place in the admin-menu.
