I have a problem!

I have just started using Ad Management. And for some reason, when I create an ad, it gets created four times! If I try to delete one of the four ads that have been added, all four are deleted.

As for how it looks on the forum?  Go to http://filmmakers-alliance.com/forum/index.php?action=forum and you'll find out!

Has anyone any idea what is causing this?

And how I stop it?

Thanks!

Dom

I think this issue arises if you either already had a previously installed version, or you have installed more than once for some reason.

In my case there was an older version installed which I had forgotten about. So I got two lots of ads in the templates. To try to fix, I then deleted the old install, uninstalled and reinstalled the new version, now I've got three versions!

What happens is the default templates get extra code added to them each time, which is fixable (sort of). But that doesn't sort the admin area...

Any fixes for this, please let me know!

No.
On some servers the _unique_ installation of original packet
duplicates the code.
Particularly my hosting server
confirmed such behavior of Package Manager for both versions.

To avoid the effect
a mod applier should prefer PAY-ME mod instead..

until Jerm will return with operable packets.

At any rate the not-so-quick fix is to remove all instances of duplicate code in the templates it affects.

Search the forum for more information.

The issue has been flagged before so hopefully the developers will mark it as a bug.

johncthompson,
Please global-quote the post
which confirms that the developers accepted the bug.

ps.
Have you installed the original mod successfully ?

I rebuilt my website at a new location. I then did a fresh install of Ad Management v2.3.

I now see each ad twice!

I would manually delete suplicate code if I had any idea of how to do that.  Could you show me an example?

Has this been listed as a bug yet?

Thanks,

Dom

Attach your index.template.php file from your theme.

Hi,

I only just discovered the suggestion to attach my template.  However, I have since re-built the site again and now Ad Management appears to be set up correctly but now no ads appear at all!

Should I still attach the template or would you say this is a new problem?

With thanks,

Dom

Modifying template files is a bad idea.

And the problem of Ad Management mod inoperability on a number of servers
is the old one.
