Need Help on Ad and Forum Home Page

I will truely be honored to learn from SMF gurus we have here

The challenges i have with my forum are listed below

1. I want my forum home page to be BOLD and NOT in tabular form. Something  like the home page/ recent post section of www.nairaland.com
2. I need help on how to properly place(centrally align) my adverts
