Text Link Ads

Text Link Ads provides me with PHP to insert into my forum, I can't get it to work, it's displaying errors when I try. I set the type to "PHP" and want it to display on the board index, but get this error:

"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/mysite/public_html/Sources/Load.php(1726) : eval()'d code(15) : eval()'d code on line 1"

I am running SMF 1.1.4 and smfads 2.3

I got this to work by removing the opening and closing tags about the PHP.
