Title: ad code? help newbie here
Post by: rollingrock on July 01, 2009, 10:32:28 AM
We are kicking around the idea of placing ads on our forum

I have no idea how to get code for ads.

Is there a trick I am missing? All we really want are logos with links etc...

Thanks

RR

You mean Google ads? Here: http://www.adsense.com
For any other ads use just ordinary html code.

Quote from: SMF Mod SiteNext is the content section, in here is where you place the ad code. In this version of the ad mod it can handle both HTML and PHP languages. Place your Google code in here or any other ad code you may have.

What?! Are normal people meant to understand what these sentences mean? Well I'm afraid I don't. COuld someone please be more specific in explaining what ad code means. I have put several banners on my site, but they're only pictures. What exactly am I supposed to put in as ad code? An example of a working code would be great.

And no, I am not using/talking about/interested in google ads of any kind.

Ok, I got it (after a while). You just put in html or php code in the ad code field like you would on any webpage. Like:

<a href="http://suklaayhdistys.com" target="_blank"><img src="banner.jpg" alt="Banner" width="140" height="350" border="0"></a>
