Title: Lock welcome area banner to always showing
Post by: ImNoDozer on July 14, 2008, 08:50:09 PM
Been using this superb mod for just a little while, and was wondering if there's a way that I can have the "welcome area" banner showing at all times even when I have ads turned off for members, the reason quite simply is that a banner in this area is much less obtrusive and could be deemed a high value position. The selection of who sees what ad in what area is governed by the board its in and not the permissions of the member, where as a member you either see all or no ads. I wish for all ads to be only seen by guests, not a problem, but I also want this welcome area ad box to be seen by everyone. I'm assuming that I will have to leave things as they are, but instead of using the AdMod I would have to insert the code directly into the index.template.php file, and if I knew where I wouldn't be asking here now.

Any clues please?

I'm afraid I don't quite understand, but I'll attempt to assist you.

You're asking on how to put a custom banner and/or logo on your forums?

If I understand you correctly, you need to open index.template.php and search for "//Welcome Ads". The following if statement must be replaced with the static ad you want to insert. Remember to first create a backup just in case.
