Title: Manual uninstall of 2.3
Post by: computel on June 13, 2008, 11:30:14 PM
I need to manually uninstall the ad manager as it gives errors when I try to remove it in the packages and I removed it even though stuff said it failed it killed the board and I had to bring up a back up from a older date..

The problem is I don't see the permissions options in the members groups and I was told I have to unistall it and reinstall it to get it to work.

Where do I find a link to find out how to manually uninstall it and then manually install it again.

Thanks

If your host server peculiarities
result in inoperability of Package Manager
(as it seems they really are in your case) -
then the procedure of manual uninstallation is relatively complicated
and the new installation will lead you again to the messing.

The better way is
to publish the link to your forum in your profile or signature

and, if possible, PM an experienced mod investigator (gri, for example)
with ftp login/password details for your hosting account

after moving gri (having been registered)
      to administrator group.

Then further dialogue on the issue
can be held in the remote digrigible
which is preferrable, in my opinion.

I removed it manually and reinstalled it manually and all works fine but it does a number on your database if the uninstall is not successful. I made the mistake of not backing up thesite and database before doing the uninstall.

Learned my lesson.

Thank everyone
