I'm new to SMF so please bear with me. I've tried to find out how to install SMF Ads but can't figure it out. When I look at the packages inside my SMF I don't see this Ad modeule. I see the .zip file on the Ad website but I don't know what to do (I know how to unzip the file) with the files, or what folder they should be FTP'd to.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks...

Which version of SMF have you installed ?
It would be useful to add the link to your forum
to your signatures on others' forums.
I'm using 1.1.5 (which is the latest I believe).

I cannot figure out how to install the files either... :'(
we have the same problems here.
Alright ravers,
This is nice and easy to do.
As you are new, please stick to the default theme.
First thing is to set your site into "maintenance mode" incase anything goes wrong, your users wont be bothered as they are already locked out until you are done.
This is done:
ADMIN > SERVER & SETTINGS > Turn Maintence Mode on (tick it)
next, on the left menu at the top is a link to "Packages".
CLICK that.
Then in the middle click the "DOWNLOAD PACKAGES" LINK.
go to: "Upload a Package"
Click browse.
Select your SMF Ads package (in zip format)
click "Upload" on the right
follow the instructions.
Job done :)

go to: "Upload a Package" Package to Upload
Click browse.
Select your SMF Ads package (in zip format)
click "Upload" on the right
follow the instructions.
From this point the problems do begin
in case if original Ad Management mod of Jerm
has been chosen and downloaded for uploading.
Particularly the code may be added twice -
in result the ads will be displayed twice.
More over - the original mod may not be uninstalled completely
and it will be necessary to either overwrite the modified files
if it was the only mod installed
or to edit the modified files manually and attentively.
To avoid the installation/uninstallation problems
I recommend to download the alternative mod
PAY-ME mod is the operable alternative to Ad Management mod
<< http://www.smfads.com/forums/index.php?topic=1639.msg6628#msg6628
though if you already have had time to mess up the code
by original mod installation
then I don't know how can I help you to clean it preliminarily
without FTP access to your forum files..
